Following the success of last years Street Velodrome , Sterling Mills are once again saddling up for a celebration of cycling.
The pop up Street Velodrome will be back, alongside range of other activities.
While serious cyclists are seeking their inner Chris Hoy on the track, baby Bradley Wigginses can be trying out their first balance bikes.
Youngsters will have the chance to try out their cycling skills on the ‘bikeabilty’ sessions. And those who enjoy a nutritious snack after they exercise, there is even a pedal-powered smoothie maker.
Clackmannanshire Council are once again partnering the event and will be providing a number of activities on the day, promoting cycling as a fun alternative to the car.
All equipment is provided, and best of all its FREE.
With over 2o stores to visit too, it has all the makings of a great day out.
10am to 6 pm – Velodrome :
Street Velodrome gives everyone the chance to saddle up and speed round the circuit on special race bikes, cheered on by friends and family. Open to all ages and abilities, the Street Velodrome Team will also be on hand to offer tips and advice to would-be Olympians.
10 am to 6 pm – Pop up cycle hub
10 am to 6 pm – Get Cycling activities :
The faster you pedal the faster your car races round the track to beat your opponent’s. When you brake, your car brakes.
THE BIKE SIMULATOR
Challenge your participants to cycling a certain amount of miles/kilometers through-out the day.
The simulator is a competitive, challenging and fun attraction. The fantastic graphics, effects and real life video can take your participants on an adventure through your chosen location/route. The speed of the bike alters as you race up or down different gradients.
A pedal powered Smoothie Maker, where the cyclist generates the power to create a delicious, healthy smoothie of their choice. A fun addition that encourages healthy eating and exercise all at the same time. (All ingredients supplied).
VELODROME (For those who don’t fancy a go on the pop up Velodrome this year, why not try this!)
A pedal powered Velodrome, where the cyclists generate the power to race around the interactive Velodrome, LED lights follow the progress of the racers, first one over the line is the winner! Includes voice over commentary.
11 am to 4 pm – Arts and Craft, cycle themed activities for little ones. Story telling sessions which of course are cycle related too!
11 am to 4pm – Bikeability / balanceabilty sessions.
Central FM will also be at Sterling Mills between 11 am and 4 pm, playing fabulous tunes and giving away gift vouchers.
